This Feels Personal…

Maybe I just need to stop going to doctors? I went to the podiatrist, who I really like, she is a very cool lady, to have her take a look at my ingrown toenails. Exciting stuff, yes.

Unfortunately, my toenails were way worse than I thought they were and I ended up having a procedure. Two procedures really: one on each big toe. I will not go into more detail because 1. it is gross and 2. I am traumatized because I already had this procedure a decade ago and I really hated it the first time around.

I am trying to tell myself, if I get all of this bullshit sorted out now, maybe I can compact every single medical issue I will have into 2026 and once 2027 rolls around, it will be smooth sailing. However, it also seems naive to be that optimistic at this point.

But if I stop going to the doctor…

…maybe I can just die at 45 from preventable causes with total ignorance of what’s going on with my asshole body.

You know that saying, “It will get worse before it gets better?” I’ve had so much worse this year. I could use some better. I’m just saying.

Also, the podiatrist didn’t have lollipops and the receptionist looked at me like a weirdo when I asked. I would have settled for a sticker, but at that point I didn’t see the point in inquiring.
