Migraine’s Revenge

I started having migraines around the time I turned 30 (10 years ago for those of you keeping score at home). This was the first sign my vagus nerve was malfunctioning and oh boy! Is it ever malfunctioning. I have been tracking my migraines, because after my vagus nerve heals they should go away (“should” being the key word in that sentence).

Unfortunately, my migraine tracker has picked up entirely too many entries for my taste and shows no sign of slowing down. Of course, the Risperidone withdrawal and then readjustment has been a major factor.

I managed to go an entire month without a migraine before I stopped taking the Risperidone. But once the withdraw started and then the readjustment, the migraines returned with a vengeance! I have been having one every 5-6 days for a month now.

It’s rude, is what it is.

Migraines are considered in full remission if you go a year without one. Which seems like absolutely forever. I am hopeful that once this bullshit calms down, I can start the clock. Which will hopefully be soon as they are most likely caused by the vagus nerve problems. When I went to the neurologist they said there was no physical reason for them. Then they declined to give me preventive meds because I wasn’t having enough migraines to warrant it.

According to them being completely immobilized by extreme pain is perfectly acceptable multiple times per month and I’m just complaining. Migraine doctors are honestly the most unsympathetic doctors I have ever dealt with in my chronically ill life. The prospect of never having to see one again is very exciting.
